Barriemore enjoys a splendid location as the last hotel on the Oban seafront
beside the War Memorial heading north towards Ganavan on Corran Esplanade.
From its superior vantage point it commands magnificent panoramas towards the town and the islands of Kerrera, Lismore and Mull. Built in 1895 for John Stuart McCaig, a wealthy Oban banker who financed the construction of the famous local landmark known as McCaigs Tower, the house exudes an air of opulence in keeping with its late Victorian origins. |

of Oban Harbour. You can relax in comfort and enjoy one of the spectacular
sunsets looking west to the islands of Kerrera and Mull.
By decorating each room individually we have attempted to create a relaxing place for our guests to unwind and relax in. Observe the busy harbour entrances, as the fishing fleet set sail for the local fishing grounds, the fruits of their labour being served up later in Oban's many fine seafood restaurants. |
